Helping Hands Program
The Westfield’s Play & Learn
Center maintains a unique Helping Hands program. This
gives parents an opportunity to play a more active role in the
operation of the child care center. It also ensures that
parents enrolling their children into the center understand and
accept their responsibilities to provide support to the Center
in addition to tuition payments.
The Helping Hands program involves a point system, to ensure the
work required by the Center is shared evenly by all families.
Each family must accumulate a minimum of 12 points during the
course of the year.
The point status of each family will be established by the end
of April, August, and December. Each family must obtain a
minimum of four points during each of the three four month
periods. Parents with children enrolled in the Center for a full
accounting period (January 1 - April 30; May 1 - August 31; or
September 1 - December 31) who have not obtained the required
four (4) points during that period will be assessed a fee. This
fee is in addition to normal tuition, at a rate of $15.00 per
point. If additional points are acquired (beyond the
required four (4) points) they will be carried over into the next
accounting period.
The point assessment is paid when parents submit their next
regular tuition payment. Parents whose children enter the center
during the middle of any accounting period will be assessed on a
prorated basis. Enrollment after the 15th of the month means the
parents’ responsibilities do not start until the next month.
